Use the useArtemis Chrome extension to find a LinkedIn profile's email, save people, export LinkedIn and Sales Navigator searches, and connect LinkedIn.

On this page
The useArtemis Chrome extension adds a side panel next to LinkedIn. Open someone's profile to find their work email and save them to a lead list or a campaign, without leaving LinkedIn. Finding an email uses 1 credit, only when an email is found. Saving people is free. The extension can also export a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search to a lead list, for free, and connect the LinkedIn account you're logged in to, for your campaigns.
Install the extension
- Open the useArtemis extension on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
- To keep it at hand, click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin useArtemis.
You can also get to the store page from the app: Prospects › Import leads › Save leads from LinkedIn.
Connect your useArtemis account
- Click the useArtemis icon in Chrome's toolbar. The side panel opens.
- Click Connect useArtemis. A useArtemis tab opens. If you're logged out, log in first: with your email and password you come back to this page, otherwise click Connect useArtemis in the panel again.
- The page shows The extension is connected with the email of your account. Close the tab.
The extension now uses that account. If the page shows Extension not found, the extension isn't installed in this Chrome profile: install it, then click Connect useArtemis in the panel again.
If you belong to a team, a menu at the top of the panel lets you pick the workspace: Personal workspace or Team:
Find a person's email
- On LinkedIn, open a person's profile (an address that starts with linkedin.com/in/).
- Click Find email on the right edge of the page, or the useArtemis icon in the toolbar. The panel shows the person's name, headline, current job and location.
- Check the name and the company. If one is missing or wrong, click the pencil icon and fix Name, Company or Job title. The company matters: without it, the email is harder to find.
- Click Find email. The search can take up to 45 seconds.
The email appears with its status (Verified, Catch-all, Risky, Invalid or Unverified, see What email statuses mean) and a copy button. 1 credit is used.
If you, or your team in a team workspace, already found this person's email (in the extension or in Discover), it shows as soon as you open the profile, with no credit used.
Other messages you may see:
- No email found for this person. No credit was used. You can fix the company and click Search again.
- Email search is temporarily unavailable. No credit was used, please try again in a moment.
- You're out of credits. Click Get more credits to open Settings › Billing.
- Email reveals aren't available on AppSumo Lifetime plans. You can still save people to your lists.
Save the person to a list or a campaign
- Under Save, choose Lead list or Campaign.
- For a list, pick one of your lists, or + New list… and type its name. Click Save to list.
- For a campaign, pick the campaign and click Add to campaign.
You see Saved to .
(or Added to .
and they aren't added twice. The panel remembers your last choice.
The lead gets the name, job title, company, location, photo and LinkedIn URL from the profile, and the email if it was found. A lead with an email is skipped by Find emails, so it isn't charged twice. Lists created from the extension show Chrome extension as their source on the Prospects page (see Manage your lead lists).
Adding someone to a campaign adds them to the campaign's lead list:
- Running campaign: the campaign picks the person up within 10 minutes, then contacts them on its schedule.
- Paused campaign (shown as "paused"): the person is contacted once you resume it.
- Campaign not launched yet (shown as "draft"): the person is contacted when you launch it.
Finished campaigns aren't listed. If you have no campaign yet, the panel shows Create one in useArtemis. See Manage the leads of a campaign.
Export a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search
On a LinkedIn people search, a Sales Navigator search or a Sales Navigator lead list, the panel shows Export this search. It adds the people of the search to a lead list, in the background. Exporting is free (no credits) and needs a subscription or a running free trial.
The search runs with the LinkedIn account you're logged in to in Chrome, so connect it first (see Connect your LinkedIn account for campaigns below). A Sales Navigator search or lead list needs that account to have Sales Navigator.
- On LinkedIn, search for people with the filters you want, or open a Sales Navigator search or lead list.
- Click Export search on the right edge of the page, or the useArtemis icon in Chrome's toolbar.
- In People to export, enter how many people you want. LinkedIn shows at most 1,000 people for one search (2,500 in Sales Navigator): to get more, split your search with more filters.
- Under Save to, keep + New list… and name the list, or pick one of your lists.
- Click Export N people.
The export continues in useArtemis even if you close the panel or Chrome. Exports in the panel shows its progress, and so does the list on the Prospects page. When it's finished, the panel shows Done: N people added. Click the arrow icon next to the export to open the list. From there, Find emails finds their work emails (1 credit per email found, see How credits work), and you can use the list in a campaign.
Each lead gets the name, headline, job title, company, location, photo, LinkedIn profile URL and connection degree. In a LinkedIn search, the job title and company come from the headline (for example "Head of Sales at Acme"): leads whose headline doesn't say where they work have no company. People already in the list are skipped, and so are the profiles LinkedIn hides as "LinkedIn Member". Lists created by an export show LinkedIn or Sales Navigator as their source.
How the export keeps your LinkedIn account safe
The export reads the search the way you would, a page at a time, so LinkedIn doesn't see unusual activity:
- One page of results (10 people, 25 in Sales Navigator) every 25 to 75 seconds: about 100 people every 8 minutes in a LinkedIn search, 250 in Sales Navigator.
- Only between 8:00 and 20:00 in your time zone. At night the panel shows Paused for the night. with the time it continues.
- Up to 800 people a day per LinkedIn account (2,000 with Sales Navigator, 300 during the free trial). Beyond that, the panel shows Paused: this LinkedIn account reached today's export limit. and the export continues the next morning. When you start an export bigger than what's left for the day, the panel tells you how many people the account can still export today.
- If LinkedIn limits searches on the account, the panel shows Paused: LinkedIn is limiting searches on this account. and the export continues the next day.
- One export at a time per LinkedIn account. Another one waits with Starts when the other export of this LinkedIn account is done.
Stop an export
Click × next to the export in the panel. The people already exported stay in the list.
If an export stops
- Paused: reconnect this LinkedIn account to continue.: the LinkedIn account was disconnected, for example after you logged out of LinkedIn. Reconnect it (see Fix a disconnected LinkedIn account) and the export continues within two hours.
- This LinkedIn account doesn't have Sales Navigator. Export the search with an account that has it.
- LinkedIn couldn't run this search. Open it again on LinkedIn and start a new export.
- Exporting LinkedIn searches needs a paid plan.: your subscription ended. On AppSumo Lifetime plans, exporting isn't available.
- This list is busy with an import or an email search. Choose another list or wait until it finishes.: pick another list, or + New list….
Connect your LinkedIn account for campaigns
On any LinkedIn page, the panel checks whether the LinkedIn account you're logged in to is connected to useArtemis:
- Not connected yet: the Use this LinkedIn account in campaigns card at the bottom of the panel offers Connect this LinkedIn account. Click × to hide it for this profile.
- Needs to be reconnected (for example after you logged out of LinkedIn): Reconnect your LinkedIn account shows at the top of the panel, with a Reconnect button.
The connection uses the LinkedIn session of your browser: if you log out of LinkedIn in Chrome, the account needs to be reconnected. Details, plan rules and messages: Connect your LinkedIn account and Fix a disconnected LinkedIn account.
Sign out
Click ⋯ at the top right of the panel, then Sign out. This signs the extension out on every computer where it's connected to your account. Click Connect useArtemis to connect it again.
The same menu has Open useArtemis and Help.
What the extension can access
- It reads the LinkedIn page you're on, to show the profile in the panel, and which LinkedIn account you're logged in to, to offer to connect it. It doesn't read your LinkedIn password, and it doesn't visit profiles or send messages on its own.
- It reads your LinkedIn session cookie only when you click Connect this LinkedIn account or Reconnect, and sends it once to useArtemis to connect the account. It doesn't keep it, and it doesn't read the cookies of other websites.
- When you export a search, it sends the address of the search page to useArtemis, which reads the results with your connected LinkedIn account.
- When the panel shows a profile, it checks with useArtemis whether you already found this person's email. Their details are sent to useArtemis only when you click Find email or save them.
- On useArtemis, it only uses the connect page, to receive the connection to your account.
FAQ
Does the extension work on LinkedIn searches or Sales Navigator?
Yes. On a LinkedIn people search, a Sales Navigator search or a Sales Navigator lead list, it exports the people to a lead list: see Export a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search above. Finding an email and saving one person work on profiles (linkedin.com/in/…).
Can I connect my LinkedIn account for campaigns with the extension?
Yes. Open any LinkedIn page while logged in to the profile you want to connect, then click Connect this LinkedIn account in the panel. See Connect your LinkedIn account for campaigns above. You can also connect it in Settings › LinkedIn accounts: see Connect your LinkedIn account.
The panel says "Reload this LinkedIn page". Why?
The tab was open before you installed or updated the extension. Click Reload the page.
The name or company in the panel is wrong. What should I do?
Click the pencil icon on the person's card and fix it before clicking Find email or saving. LinkedIn changes its pages often, and some profiles don't show a current company.
The panel asks me to connect again. Why?
The extension was signed out: from its menu (on any computer), or because the connection expired after 180 days. Click Connect useArtemis.
