how to automate your linkedin outreach

LinkedIn has become an indispensable tool for professionals looking to expand their network, generate leads, and promote their services.

Prospecting on LinkedIn, which involves connecting with potential prospects and building professional relationships, is a common practice for many businesses.

However, the standard method of manually contacting your leads can be time-consuming and tedious, requiring constant attention and meticulous personalization of messages.

This is where the interest in automating your LinkedIn outreach lies.

In this article, we will explore the benefits of automating LinkedIn Outreach, provide you with detailed features and advantages of using useArtemis to automate your LinkedIn profile.

Why Automate Your LinkedIn Outreach?

When you have a targeted list of 1000 leads, writing a personalized message for each of them and then sending them a message is extremely tedious.

Some good reasons to automate your outreach:

  • The main good reason to automate your outreach is obviously time-saving.
    Automating also means scaling.
  • By automating your LinkedIn account, you can easily multiply your efforts and prospect using several different accounts, which will increase your LinkedIn reach.
  • useArtemis allows you to write ultra-personalized messages, invitations, and notes according to each lead with the help of AI. You probably couldn't write 1000 ultra-personalized invitations with the same passion. Thanks to AI, you can send hundreds of ultra-personalized messages in a 100% automatic way.

How to Automate Your LinkedIn Outreach with useArtemis

First, if you haven’t done so already, start by signing up for useArtemis. Registration is free, and you will have a 14-day free trial.

To automate your LinkedIn outreach, we will proceed in two major steps:

  1. We will find prospects and extract them with the useArtemis Chrome extension.
  2. We will create and launch our automated campaign.

To start, go to LinkedIn and search for a relevant keyword for our use-case.

Finding and Extracting Qualified Prospects from LinkedIn

In our case, we will search for "Sales" to find prospects related to sales.

For more relevant results, feel free to check out this article on Boolean searches on LinkedIn.

Once LinkedIn has returned my search results, I launch the useArtemis Chrome extension.
It asks me to name my prospect list and choose the number of pages I want to extract.
Then click on "Import results..." to import the results.

Back on useArtemis, we can follow the progress of our export.

Once the process is complete, you can click on your list to open it and see the leads it contains.

If you wish, you can choose to enrich your list by clicking on "Enrich list". This operation consists of finding the emails of your leads.

There are 2 different offers to enrich your leads:

  • Standard enrichment, which simply consists of discovering the email with the information we have, without further investigation.
  • Magic enrichment, on the other hand, consists of a first phase of scraping to gather more information on the leads, then on their company, to maximize results.

In my example, I will select standard enrichment.

Note that this enrichment phase is not mandatory if you do not wish to send emails but only want to prospect on LinkedIn.

Once the enrichment is complete, our prospect list is ready, and we can move on to the second step of our campaign creation.

Creating a Campaign on useArtemis

Now, go to the "Campaigns" tab on useArtemis. Then click on "New campaign" to create a new campaign.

Next, give your campaign a name and click on the "Create campaign" button.

We then arrive at the campaign creation page. It contains several default steps that you can modify or delete as you see fit.

The first step cannot be deleted, as it is where you will choose the list you want to target.

In my case, I will therefore target the "Sales" list that I just imported and enriched from LinkedIn in step 1.

The second default step that we will leave as is in this example is a LinkedIn visit.

The only thing we have to do here is to select the LinkedIn account we want to use.

useArtemis - How to connect multiple linkedin accounts

How to Connect Multiple LinkedIn Accounts?

useArtemis enables the connection of several LinkedIn accounts to amplify the power of your campaigns.

However, please be cautious. If you wish to connect multiple LinkedIn accounts to your useArtemis account, you need to create several sessions on Chrome and install the extension on each session.

This is important to note because if you manually log out of a session, it renders the login cookies invalid, resulting in useArtemis getting disconnected as well.

To delve deeper into connecting multiple accounts, you might want to check out this article: How to connect multiple LinkedIn account on useArtemis.

Now, let’s configure the second stage of our campaign, which involves a "Delay," meaning a pause time between two actions.

By default, all actions are executed with an interval of about thirty minutes.

To add longer delays, simply add a new step by clicking on the "Add step" button and then select the number of days you wish to pause using the dropdown menu.

Moving on to one of the crucial stages of LinkedIn outreach: Sending Invitations.

Automating LinkedIn Invitation Sending

Invitations are crucial as they typically create the first impression on your outreach target.

Until recently, LinkedIn allowed up to 250 invitation sends with a message per week for free accounts.

Today, you are limited to 10 messages, and the remaining invitations must be sent without a note.

To learn more about the new LinkedIn limits in 2024, you can refer to the relevant resources.

If you have a LinkedIn premium account, you are still entitled to 250 invitation sends with a message, which is a significant advantage when it comes to automated LinkedIn outreach.

To send invitations, you need to use the "Invite" step. Upon clicking the "Edit" button, you can write a message using variables and preview it by selecting an outreach target from your list on the right side of your screen.

Additionally, you can opt for the "Write custom notes for each lead with ChatGPT" feature. By enabling this, useArtemis will fetch the LinkedIn profile content of your outreach target each time, and request ChatGPT to draft a personalized icebreaker.

Filtering Outreach Targets with Conditions and Rules

With useArtemis, you can filter the outreach targets in your campaign using the "Condition" step.

This step, for example, allows you to filter out individuals who are already in your connections, those who have or haven't responded to emails, and so on.

Another step, "Rule," lets you filter outreach targets using fields present on their profiles.

Here, I can ensure that the job title field of each outreach target indeed contains the keyword 'Sales' that I was initially searching for on LinkedIn.

These steps are optional, and you can very well launch a campaign with only invitations, for example.

Setting up Your Multichannel Outreach Campaign

You can configure your campaign through the "Settings" tab.

Here, a "Settings" pop-up will appear, offering various parameters that you can adjust according to your needs.

You can change the name of your campaign, choose the hours during which you wish the actions to be performed, and modify the timezone to ensure the timings are relevant to your location.

Additionally, the last part of the settings allows you to limit the number of LinkedIn actions and emails to be sent daily.

For more insight on limits to use in a LinkedIn automation campaign, refer to this article: What are the limitations on LinkedIn.

Launching the Automated LinkedIn Outreach Campaign

Once you have crafted the perfect sequence, all that’s left is to launch your campaign.

Click on the "Start Campaign" button to do so.

After launching, you can monitor the progress via the "Analytics" and "Tasks" tabs.

  • The "Analytics" tab showcases tasks recently performed by the campaign, including sent invitations, profile views, and sent emails.

  • Meanwhile, the "Tasks" tab displays upcoming tasks, providing a good way to ensure that the campaign is running smoothly and as planned.
