Hunter.io is a famous email finder known for its capacity to find email address behind domain names. The approach of Hunter is a bit different, every emails found by the app are scraped on Google.

Hunter has thousands of scrapers that are scraping the web hunting for email addresses. The database is huge but not always accurate.

Emails are by default not verified but you can verify them with the app. However it will costs you one more credit.

Hunter also have a functionality called “Technology checker” that allows you to find technologies that are used by your targeted company. For exemple I can check that a store is using Facebook ads, Shopify, Intercom etc.

Hunter.io is on overall an amazing tool but for me there is one main feature that is missing : a compatibility with Linkedin. Indeed you can’t find email of Linkedin profiles, neither Import LinkedIn data. Which is a huge miss for many entrepreneurs.

Snov.io is also available as a web app and as a Chrome extension. You can use Snov.io to find emails from Linkedin but you can’t import in Bulk like you can do with useArtemis.

However, the Chrome extension of Snov.io also allows you to reveal emails of website while you’re visiting them. Which is really convenient for people working in the SEO area and that need to get in touch with website owners for Guest posts for exemple.

Overall, Snov.io is a really nice app that every marketers should have in their tool box. The little cons of the app is that some users find it not always really reliable. Even if some emails are verified, some are not and I can sometimes be a problem.

4. FindThatLead

FindThatLead is a tool built in Barcelona. It has very nice UI and the tech behind is great. However it may have some limitations depending on what you are trying to achieve.

FindThatLead offers several ways to find email addresses. The first one is the classic email finder that allows you to find emails with company name + full name.
It’s a nice feature that every other website has but in my opinion it’s not built for “Prospecting”. It’s just allows you find someone’s email.
However they have a prospecting platform that is pretty good. You can use many filters, but there is major cons : You can only get leads 10 by 10. Which can make the hole process extremely slow if you want to build a massive list.

FindThatLead also have a Chrome extension that allows you to reveal LinkedIn emails of profiles you’re visiting, but nothing more. You can’t importe Search results and it’s not compatible with Facebook neither.

RocketReach is an established player in the lead generation. Here since a few years it seems that their email finding tech is only based on database leaks which may sometimes lead to outdated data.
When I personally used RocketReach I had great results but when reading reviews on Trustpilot , I found that many users weren’t happy to see their personal data there.

RocketReach offers 2 main features :

  • A prospecting platform which seems to have a lot of data but you can’t rely on the authenticity of emails found.
  • A Chrome extension that allows you to find emails on Linkedin profiles.

Skrapp.io is another email finding tool that does a great job. Their app is pretty easy to use and there are some video tutorials that help you to handle the tool. Which is a very nice point considering that some users find difficult to handle a software at the beginning.

Skrapp.io offers 2 main features:

  • An email finder with first name + last name + company name.
  • An email verifier.

They also offer a Chrome extension that allows you to reveal contact details from Linkedin.

Those 2 features are working well, but let’s be honest : It’s probably not enough if you are a heavy recruiter or have big needs in cold outreach.

You can’t import Linkedin search results, there is no cold outreach tool, no Facebook export. And it’s a huge miss.

Moreover, the price is pretty expensive in comparison with useArtemis or Snov.io.
